About First in Health

Community activities

Our staff and directors undertake various community activities under their own steam. Our most recent one has been assisting with the kokako monitoring program in the Waitakere Ranges west of Auckland. Twenty-two birds have been released into the Ark in the Park which extends from the Cascades Kauri park down to the reservoir. The birds have transmitters and are tracked using a receiver that is tuned to different channels at predetermined points along the tracks.
