The body makes Vitamin D with the help of UVB from sunlight. This UVB reacts with cholesterol in the skin turning it into cholecalciferol which is processed by the liver into other forms that the body uses for healthy cell division, immune regulation and bone formation. In fact this vitamin is considered a hormone, too.
